Currently I am working on completing my MSN in Nursing Education with a goal to work at the University level as a professor of nursing with an anticipated graduation in 2014. While in school I am currently teaching nursing and nursing assistant students at the college level to prepare them for entry into the role of healthcare provider for their future clients. My experiences as a medical/surgical charge nurse for over 5 years has given me a solid foundation of understanding for what skills and abilities are necessary in the nursing field and this has allowed me to convey those skills and abilities on to my students for their own success in the field of nursing. Going forward I look to expand and develop my abilities as an educator so that I might better prepare my students for their future careers and advance the profession of nursing and nursing education through research and greater involvement in nursing organizations and political advocacy efforts.
